Small Lyle Raymond HALL, 9 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. William and Zodora Branstetter Hall was fatally wounded by a playmate, Saturday evening at his home in Judson. Lyle and 13 year old Jimmy ________ were engaged in a make believe gun battle in the Hall living room. The boys had been playing with a fountain pen and old revolver from which the firing mechanism had been removed. Jimmy snatched a .22 caliber revolver from the table and fired, believing it to be the harmless weapon. Lyle slumped to the floor with a slug through his heart. His father William helplessly witnessed the tragedy. Young Lyle was a 4th grade student in the Judson Grade School and was born in Waveland Nov 9, 1939. He is survived by his parents, two sisters, Merle, 5 and Lynda 2; a brother, Billy Lee, 7 all at home; his grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. SH Branstetter of Judson; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hall of Waveland and Mrs. Laura Bushong a great grandmother also of Waveland. The funeral service was held Monday afternoon at the Judson Baptist Church with Rev. CW Mears officiating. Burial in Guion Cemetery. Mrs. Branstetter, the maternal grandmother has been the Judson correspondent for the Waveland Independent for almost 7 years.
